Five years ago, with the debut of dreams SPOKEN
here, we introduced a group of children and their families
as they began their oral deaf education. Now, you can see and hear how
oral deaf education has helped these children to succeed in mainstream
classrooms with their hearing peers in the film There’s
a new kid in school. This film is included in our educator’s
kit, along with articles and other resources.
With
proven and collaborative education programs, you can meet the
growing demand for quality oral deaf education among young students
with hearing aids and cochlear
implants.
Providing a continuum of oral deaf services is a sound education
policy, and a fiscally
responsible choice. Oral
deaf children are independent and require fewer special education
support services and programs as they make their way through
elementary, middle, and high
school. As adults, they will enjoy expanded educational and vocational
opportunities.
